Terms of use

Short, because there is not much to agree to. Nothing here is sold and nothing here needs an account.

What this site is

A page describing a set of free, personal projects, with links to where they live. It is run by an individual, not a company. Using it means these terms apply; if you disagree with them, the remedy is to close the tab.

The projects are free, and they are provided as they are

The featured personal projects are free to use and made by one person in their own time. They are offered as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind — no guarantee it is accurate, uninterrupted, fit for any particular purpose, or that it will keep existing.

To the fullest extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for any loss or damage arising from using this site or anything it links to. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be limited — including, for anyone in Canada, rights under consumer protection law.

Things can change or stop

Any of these projects may change, move host, or be retired. A site that promises permanence it cannot deliver is making the kind of claim this whole project exists to avoid. Where something moves, this page and the project list are updated to point at the new home.

Content and code

The words, design, logo and images on this site belong to their author. The mark — the folder with the cursor in it — identifies these projects, so please do not use it to represent something that is not one of them.

The code is a different matter and is more generous. Each public repository carries its own licence, and that licence is what governs the code in it. The brand tokens and fonts are published openly with their own terms attached. The fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font License by their original authors and are not this project’s to relicense.

Quoting, linking, and writing about any of this is welcome and needs no permission. That is the point of publishing it.

Other people’s sites

Links go to YouTube, GitHub, the App Store and elsewhere. Those are not controlled here, and their terms and privacy practices are their own. See Privacy for what that means in practice.

Fair use of the projects

Access conditions may differ between projects and their hosting platforms. The ask here is the obvious one: do not attack the services, do not scrape them hard enough to break them for other people, and do not use them to do something illegal.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada.
